Wet start for chuckwagon racing at Grande Prairie Stompede
The rain didn’t put a hamper on the World Professional Chuckwagon Association’s season kick-off Wednesday evening out at Evergreen Park.
The 41st running of the Grande Prairie Stompede was a wet and chilly one following a bout of rain in the region, but still showed off some spectacular training from the offseason nonetheless.
The fastest time of the night was 1:19.59, and came from Cruise Bensmiller. He leads the standings going into Day 2.
Both defending Grande Prairie Stompede Champion and reigning World Champion Chuckwagon Driver, Chanse Vigen got a no time on the night, as his wagon was upset in his heat.
