Fire Restriction lifted for City of Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie’s Fire Department lifted the fire restriction for the city on Friday, May 30.

Fire Marshall Chris Renyck credited “the recent weather conditions” for “significantly reducing the fire risk in our area.”

However, even though the danger is low, the City is reminding residents a fire permit is still required for any backyard fire pits, and these fire pits must comply with local safety regulations.

Fire Marshall Renyck added, “We encourage residents to continue practicing fire safety to maintain this low risk.”

Anyone with questions or would like to purchase a fire permit can visit AccessGP or call 3-1-1.
