The Pleasant View Lodge has opened in Spirit River.

The Grande Sprit Foundation held a grand opening ceremony Saturday to unveil the new facility built to provide a home and care for seniors.

Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services Jason Nixon say the foundation’s efforts prioritize the well-being of seniors and strengthen community bonds.

The opening celebration coincided with the Spirit Days weekend.

The land where the lodge was built was donated by the Municipal District of Spirit River, Saddle Hills County, Birch Hills County, the Town of Spirit River, and the Village of Rycroft.
