TVs installed at the GPRH, thanks to the County of Grande Prairie
Nearly 300 televisions have been installed at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.
These TVs were part of a redirection of some funds County of Grande Prairie Council approved back in 2020, as they invested one million dollars over ten years for a bedside engagement system. However, the project faced significant delays.
County of Grande Prairie Reeve Bob Marshall said in a release; “Everyone in our region will be using Grande Prairie Regional Hospital for whatever their medical needs are,” and “from a mental health perspective, it’s a benefit for every patient and family member staying here.”
Now, patient rooms, common areas, and cancer treatment chairs in the Cancer Clinic will all feature TVs, in hopes of taking patient’s minds off why they are there in the first place, according to Reeve Marshall.
