68th Beekeepers Field Day set for June 21

The 68th annual Beaverlodge Beekeepers Field Day will be held on Friday, June 21, at the Beaverlodge Research Farm

Start time will be 10 a.m. It is open to the public. There is no admission charge.

Organizers say the day will include the following events:

  • Presentations by expert speakers
    • Keynote speaker, Dr. Nuria Morfin, Tech Transfer Program Lead from the BC Honey Producers Association, will speak about some of her latest work: On-site monitoring project: A revision of varroa economic injury levels in British Columbia.
    • Researchers from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the National Bee Diagnostic Centre, and the University of Lethbridge
    • Samantha Muirhead, Provincial Apiculturist – Alberta
    • Kerry Clark, British Columbia Honey Producers Association
    • Connie Philips, Alberta Beekeepers Commission
  • Alberta Beekeepers Commission Technical Transfer Program
  • Talks and demonstrations by bee experts
  • Prize draws
  • Complimentary BBQ lunch (starts at noon)
