Grande Prairie Public Library awarded $10,000 grant for laptop upgrade project

The Grande Prairie Public Library will be making some upgrades to classroom laptops.

GPPL has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Telus Community Board Grant to go towards their Learn to Tech project to refresh the laptops and the programs they support.

The grant focuses on supporting youth up to age 29 in Canada to help reach their full potential through health and educational initiatives.

The project will refresh the laptops by Fall 2024, with tentative plans in the work to add content creation and coding courses to the library’s programs.

GPPL believes that no-cost education and training are critical in supporting youth and other equity-deserving groups.
