Grande Prairie STARS hosts intensive training simulation competition

On Thursday June 13, the Wapiti River was the host for all five STARS bases conducting their annual intensive training simulation competition.
The ALL STARS Simulation Competition had trained personal competing in complex mass casualty incident scenarios, including a jet boat, on the riverbanks of the Wapiti.
The contest is done on an annual basis to identify one team of two that will go on to compete internationally, representing STARS, against other helicopter EMS programs around the world.
In international competition, STARS has participated for 21 years and has taken top spot seven times and have placed in the top three every single year.
