Inmate escaped from Grande Cache Institution

On Friday, June 14, 2024, an inmate from the Grande Cache Institution escaped the medium-security level institution while working on assignment within the property.

A warrant for arrest for inmate Kevin Sider has been issued by Grande Cache RCMP.

Kevin Sider is 44-years-old and is described as:

  • 5’11” tall
  • 232 pounds
  • Fair complexion
  • Blue eyes
  • Brown hair
  • Tattoo on left leg

Sider is currently serving a sentence of 9 years, 6 months, and 18 days for:

  • 11 counts of Break and Enter and Commit
  • Laundering Proceeds of Crime
  • 6 counts of Break and Enter with Intent
  • Failure to Attend Court
  • Failure to Comply with Order
  • 4 counts of Intent to Cause Explosion

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kevin Sider is asked to contact RCMP in their local jurisdiction.

The Correctional Service of Canada is investigating the circumstances of Sider’s escape and is working alongside police to locate him as quickly as possible.
