Fairview’s Ignite Youth Centre receives TELUS Friendly Future Foundation donation

The Ignite Youth Centre in Fairview will be establishing a calming space for neurodiverse youth thanks to a donation from TELUS.
The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation has donated $7,000 to allow for the creation of a Quiet Corner, a space to provide a sensory break for individuals with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and other neurodiverse conditions.
Executive Director of Ignite, Pam MacKay says the corner will provide respite for the youth and enable them to manage sensory overload and regain a sense of calm and focus through use of lighting effects, gentle sounds, tactile experiences, and soft furnishings.
