Peace Wapiti Academy and Hythe Regional School receive energy program grant fro Inside Education

A pair of Peace Wapiti Public Schools have been awarded a grant from Inside Education’s A+ for Energy program to enhance student understanding of Canada’s Energy Landscape.

Peace Wapiti Academy has been awarded $1,500 for its PWA Bike Program project to open a community bike shop and support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Hythe Regional School has been awarded $5,000 for its Building the Future Project to track electricity generation from solar panels and educate students on the impact of solar power.

In addition to the grants, teachers from both schools have been awarded scholarships to attend a two-day program and celebration in August.

Since its creation 18 years ago the A+ for Energy program has awarded nearly $5 million dollars to Alberta schools.
