Jun 26, 2024 | 6:00 AM

Canada’s NextGen women’s volleyball team is in the Dominican Republic getting ready for a six-country tournament.

Games start at the NORCECA Women’s Final Six Pan American Cup today (Wednesday, June 26), being played in Santo Domingo.

Canada will play its games Thursday against Mexico and Friday versus the U.S. Updated scores can be found here.

Wanham’s Quinn Pelland is with Team Canada at this event.

Pelland has previous experience with the Senior National team but was not with that group in the most recent round of Volleyball Nations League. Canada did not quality for the Olympics during VNL play.

The NextGen program started May 22 and sees athletes train full time at the National Training Centre in Richmond, B.C.

Volleyball Canada calls it “an entry point” for the senior women’s team.
