Grande Prairie Police Service assigning first officers to Grande Prairie RCMP detachment
Grande Prairie RCMP are being joined by two police officers from the Grande Prairie Police Service.
Starting this week, two constables will be integrated into existing frontline teams with the detachment and working alongside RCMP members as part of the latest step in Grande Prairie’s multi-year transition to having its own municipal police service.
Grande Prairie RCMP Superintendent Lee Brachmann says the partnership will advance the transition safely and effectively while ensuring continued delivery of high-quality policing services.
GPPS Chief Dwayne Lakusta says the move underscores the service and RCMP’s shared commitment to a safe and seamless transition.
