Aquatera confirms water line break is causing delays at 132 Avenue

Jul 9, 2024 | 3:27 PM

UPDATE:

Aquatera Utilities has confirmed a water main break has caused a road closure for 132 Avenue, near Keddie’s and the train tracks.

At this time, there is no estimate as to when the road will re-open, and the water is shut off, but crews are hopeful that they can open some lanes soon to help with the flow of traffic.

According to Aquatera, the incident was caused by a contractor striking an 8-inch water main, which has led to damage to the water line and some of the surrounding area.

Aquatera did add that there is no concern about a water shortage, as this break is only affecting one or two customers.

Reports to the EverythingGP newsroom have indicated that a road closure is in effect at 132 Avenue, near Keddie’s and the train tracks.

Callers say water can be seen spraying into the air, and traffic is being redirected from the area.

According to the City’s Construction map, crews were working on a monitoring well installation in the area.

More updates are expected.
