Jul 10, 2024 | 11:56 PM

Grande Prairie’s Chanse Vigen has taken over the lead in the aggregate at the Calgary Stampede’s Rangeland Derby.

Vigen took after top spot after recording the fastest time Wednesday night at 1:10.03.

“From barrel number 1 in the 8th heat, Vigen was the top wagon on the night by 43 one-hundredths of a second over 2013 Rangeland Derby Champion Jason Glass who had to settle for second on the night. Jamie Laboucane placed third, Obrey Motowylo was fourth,” says the World Professional Chuckwagon Association in a news release.

Cody Ridsdale was fifth on the night.

Vigen, Chad Fike, and Laboucane are the top three in the aggregate after six nights of racing. The top three after Saturday’s heats will advance to Sunday’s championship final.
