Upgrades to commence at two Grande Prairie playgrounds

The City of Grande Prairie began work replacing two playgrounds this week.

Both the Monkman Park playground and the playground at Mission Heights will be removed and replaced with new updated equipment and a new wood border.

Local kids got to decide the new colour schemes for the playgrounds, with two Stepping Stone Daycare groups picking the Macaw palette for the Mission Height’s playground, while students at Ecole Louis Riel chose the Seabreeze palette for Monkman Park.

The work is expected to go until September 30, both playgrounds will be fenced off while the work is ongoing.
