Grande Prairie Enforcement Services organizing Amnesty Event to discuss vehicle noise violations July 20

Jul 15, 2024 | 1:14 PM

Grande Prairie Enforcement Services is organizing an information session Saturday for motorists to learn what is considered a noise violation.

Drivers with questions about noise from their vehicles, after-market modifications and Alberta’s vehicle Equipment Regulation are invited to visit the Enforcement Services Office at 12102 100 Street, as part of an amnesty event where no violation tickets will be issued to attendees.

Following multiple noise complaints this spring, GPES conducted five traffic operations in June to reduce vehicle noise, issuing 44 noise-related tickets, including 27 during traffic operations.

We will continue to target noisy vehicles through static enforcement operations throughout the summer. Loud and excessive noise from vehicles, including vehicles without mufflers or with illegal vehicle modifications, are being addressed as the community is concerned about the excessive noise that these vehicles produce.
