County of Grande Prairie begins early planning of new Teepee Creek Fire Hall

County of Grande Prairie Council has directed administration to proceed with the early steps of building a new fire station in the Teepee Creek area.

During Monday’s meeting, council directed administration to begin securing engineers, project management services, and construction for a three-bay fire station with an estimated budget of $2.5 million.

Council voted for a three-bay station, rather then a two-bay, following advice from administration saying it would be more expensive to add a third bay in the future, rather than have one included in the original designs.

The project is tentatively expected to begin in September after the Beaverlodge Fire Hall Project Manager becomes available.
