Sports for Thursday: WBL playoffs update, wagons in High River

In the Wheatbelt Baseball League playoffs, Game 5 which would have seen Peace River visit Manning Thursday evening has been rained out.

A new date and time has not been announced.

The Stampeders won 2-1 at home Wednesday night to force Game 5.

Rycroft awaits the winner in the final.

Chuckwagons

The WPCA circuit resumes Thursday night at the Battle of the Foothills in High River.

Rae Croteau Jr., Chad Fike, Layne MacGillvray, Luke Tournier and Chanse Vigen hold down the the top five spots in the world standings.

Racing will continue through Sunday.
