City of Grande Prairie temporarily closing 102 Street south of 116 Avenue for stormwater system upgrade

The City of Grande Prairie will be temporarily closing 102 Street south of 116 Avenue to accommodate a construction project.

Starting this evening, the road will be closed between 115 Avenue and 116 Avenue to traffic while underground utilities connecting to a new storm vault, and a new overflow pipe, are installed at the 102 Street and 116 Avenue intersection.

While the work is ongoing a detour will be available for motorists, while Route 8 of the public transit system will be relocating certain stop locations, and pedestrians can still be able to cross the intersection at a limited pace.

The work is expected to last two weeks.
