Highlights from the Grande Prairie Airshow

Jul 30, 2024 | 3:18 PM

The Grande Prairie Airshow took place for the first time in 19 years over the weekend, and so far the community consensus seems to be all positive.

Multiple callers to the EverythingGP newsroom on Monday said they thought the show was one of the best events in Grande Prairie to date, and are looking forward to its return next year.

Over 240 volunteers worked to make this event happen, bringing together every aspect of the aviation world; skydivers, stunt planes, wing walkers, STARS, RCMP aircrafts, and U.S and Canadian Military planes, both old and new.

The airshow even provided some entertainment for the gearheads alike, as classic cars, special RCMP cruisers and a Jet Car also made an appearance.

During the weekend STARS also celebrated the City of Grande Prairie, unveiling the City’s logo on its H-145 Airbus for all their contributions since STARS arrived in the region in 2006.
