Municipality of Jasper organizing bus tour for town residents

Aug 2, 2024 | 11:31 AM

Jasper residents that evacuated to Grande Prairie following the wildfire that reached their community may be getting the chance to see the damage themselves.

While no re-entry date has been announced at this time, the Municipality of Jasper, Parks Canada, and Provincial Government are working together to give those who lost their homes an opportunity to tour their community by bus.

The organizers are working to expedite the tours and will be releasing an instruction package for residents soon but can’t proceed until the fire situation improves.

As of July 31, 321 evacuees were registered to be living in Grande Prairie.
