Ministers to promote Alberta energy in Silicon Valley

Aug 9, 2024 | 6:56 PM

Minister of Affordability and Utilities Nathan Neudorf and Minister of Technology and Innovation Nate Glubish are travelling to Santa Clara, California in an effort to promote Alberta as a premier destination for investors.

Alberta’s market is unique due to its lack of regulation, abundant natural resources, and competitive tax system which drives investment and innovation, officials say.

The ministers will meet with leading artificial intelligence and data centre companies to discuss the growth and development of next-generation data centres. While in Santa Clara, the ministers will also meet with energy companies, government officials, and utility providers in an effort to build valuable connections with key decision makers, explore mutually beneficial policies, and advance Alberta’s priorities.

The ministers will each travel with two staff members. Trip expenses for the ministers will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
