Regional EMS Foundation donates $43k for NWP Emergency Medical Responder program

A significant donation from the Regional EMS Foundation has paved the way for a new health professional training program at Northwestern Polytechnic.

The Foundation’s donation of $43,889.99 to purchase specialized training equipment for NWP’s Emergency Medical Responder program.

The program, taught out of NWP’s Health Education Centre at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, will train students in ambulance and first response vehicle operation, emergency scene and patient assessment, and pre-hospital patient care.

The program is anticipated to start in January 2025, registration will open in the coming months.
