Four Semo Complex fires now being held, two still out of control

Alberta Wildfire says four of the six wildfires in the Semo Complex located in the High Level Forest Area are now being held.

The fires had forced the evacuation of communities of Fox Lake, John D’Or Prairie and Garden River, all located in the Little Red River Cree Nation.

Of the two still out-of-control, one close to 10 kilometres northeast of John D’Or Prairie has burned over 103,000 hectares.

The other one located 13 kilometres northwest of Garden River has burned over 6,300 hectares.

The other four have burned a combined area of close to 87,000 hectares.
