Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department disruption

The Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department will be once again without an onsite physician this week.

Alberta Health Services says no doctor will be onsite from 7 a.m. on Thursday, August 15 to 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 19.

During this time, nursing staff will remain at the ED to perform urgent triage and assessments while EMS will reroute calls to neighbouring facilities.

AHS says the disruption could be cancelled if coverage is found.

Earlier in the week, the ED experienced a 48-hour disruption, which was lifted this morning. (Wednesday, August 14.)
