City of Grande Prairie begins road rehabilitation on 84 Avenue and 116 Street August 21

The City of Grande Prairie will begin a comprehensive road rehabilitation project on 84 Avenue this week.

Starting Wednesday, city workers will begin a multistage project, with stage one being a full-depth reclamation between 113 Street and 116 Street.

The project includes replacing and repaving the road surface, and painting new roadway markings as part of the City’s efforts to enhance driver’s experience.

The City’s Mark Hoseasson says the construction will improve overall road conditions and durability.

While stage one is ongoing eastbound lanes on 84 Avenue will be redirected to the westbound lanes, short term closures may occur, and the speed limit will be reduced to 30 km/h.
