Cenotaph rejuvenation committee looks for veteran volunteers

Grande Prairie Legion First Vice President Frank Skolly is calling for Veteran volunteers who want to help “rejuvenate” the Cenotaph.

Located in Jubilee Park, the Cenotaph has played host to many Remembrance Day ceremonies and memorials; including a ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

Since it was first unveiled in 1959, the Cenotaph has played a large part in the community but has gone through numerous repairs that have changed its appearance to what is seen today.

Now, Skolly is looking for Veterans to volunteer and join the committee as they work to restore the monument.

Skolly says both the Legion and the Veteran’s Association will be pooling resources for this project, however, vet volunteers do not need to be members of either organization to help out.
