Man arrested for second-degree murder in Gift Lake

A 27-year-old man is to be in High Prairie court today for a second-degree murder charge.

On Friday, August 23, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Mounties with the High Prairie detachment responded to a call of an unresponsive male inside a vehicle.

When police arrived, they found a man deceased with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation of this crime and determined the victim to be 41-year-old Gift Lake Metis Settlement resident, Bradley Lamouche.

Dakota Auger, also a Gift Lake Metis Settlement resident, was arrested by RCMP and charged with second-degree murder of Lamouche.

An autopsy will be performed in Edmonton on Lamouche on Monday, August 26; the same day as Auger’s court date in High Prairie.
