Young woman victim in Fox Lake homicide
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 28, the Fox Lake RCMP responded to a call from the Fox Lake Nursing Station of a weapons complaint.
Upon arrival, officers learned a 19-year-old female resident of Fox Lake was being treated for injuries consistent with a stab wound. Unfortunately, the young woman succumbed to her injuries despite life-saving efforts by medical staff.
The matter has been deemed a homicide and investigation was taken over by the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit.
Mounties have arrested and charged 19-year-old Reshawn Peecheemow of Fox Lake with manslaughter. He was held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing and was remanded into custody.
