GPCSD limiting personal mobile device access for school year

The Grande Prairie and District Catholic School Division is sending out a reminder to students and their families that mobile devices will be of limited use while on school property.
Effective September 1, the use of personal mobile devices will be limited to before and after school in K-8 and K-9 schools, while high schools will no longer permit mobile devices in the classroom or during other instructional activities.
Additionally, students will not be allowed to access social media on school networks or personal devices while inside GPCSD buildings.
Exceptions will be made for students who require support with health or medical reasons, special learning needs, or specific educational purposes; parents can fill out an exemption form and submit it to their children’s school’s principal should they need.
