Vigen wins second consecutive World Chuckwagon Championship

After four days of racing down in Ponoka, Grande Prairie product Chanse Vigen has won yet again, capturing his second consecutive World Chuckwagon Championship crown.

Vigen won by 72 points over Jason Glass, who was the day money winner for the second day in a row. Rounding out the top five drivers of the season was Rae Croteau Jr., Jamie Laboucane, and Chad Fike.

Ethan Motowylo also won his second consecutive World Champion Outrider title, beating three-time world champion Rory Gervais. It was one of the closest battles for the title in history according to the World Professional Chuckwagon Association.

Jason Glass and his crew ended up winning the Aggregate portion of the Wild West WPCA World Chuckwagon Finals, after posting the best four-day aggregate time of 4:57.56.

The four drivers in the Century Downs “Winner’s Zone” Series Championship Round are: Glass who finished first after collecting 55 points, Laboucane with 50 points, Vigen with 43 point, and Fike with 42 points.

The final race will go Monday afternoon to decide who will win the $50,000 cash and the prestigious title of the Century Downs “Winner’s Zone” Series Champion.
