Hunters, farmers asked to be mindful of wildfires

The Grande Prairie Forest Area Wildfire Information Office is asking hunters and farmers to be mindful of wildfires.

Hunters are being asked to make sure any cooking or warming fires they start are completely extinguished as they can burn deep into the ground if they not put out properly.

Farmers are being asked to keep their machinery clean, to check for sparks and to have a water source, pail and shovel close by.

The wildfire hazard rating has climbed to high in the Grande Prairie Forest Area with the recent warm weather.
