PRSD superintendent announces resignation

The superintendent for Peace River School Division has announced his resignation.

Effective January 1, 2025, Adam Murray will be leaving PRSD to serve as superintendent for Yellowknife Catholic Schools in the Northwest Territories.

Murray first came to PRSD in 2011 as principal of Whitelaw Academy. He would subsequently serve as principal for multiple schools in the division before becoming assistant superintendent of human resources at central operations in 2018 and finally superintendent in the Fall of 2021.

PRSD Board Chair Crystal Owens says Murray has been an integral part of the division and fostered a community based on teamwork and trust.

Murray says he is leaving the division in a strong position and with a team of people ready to lead and ensure student success.
