Annual Northern HEAT Fire Conference happening in Peace River September 11-14

Peace River is hosting an annual Alberta firefighter’s conference this week.

The 2024 Northern HEAT Fire Conference brings in firefighters from across Alberta to undergo training normally inaccessible to northern fire departments.

The conference kicks off Wednesday September 11 with two days of live fire training at the Peace River Fire Department’s training site.

That will be followed by presentations from fire fighting experts like retired Fire Chief Tim Zehnder of the Truman Fire and Ambulance Service.

The conference will also include a trade show featuring over 25 suppliers and service provides at the Chateau Nova Hotel September 13 and 14.

The conference was moved to a September date rather than it’s usual May dates to avoid conflicts with wildfires that had affected the conference in recent years.
