Harvest progress in the Peace was well ahead of the five-and-ten year averages as of early September, according to the most recent Alberta crop report.

The report from AFSC dated September 3 says harvest was 24.4 per cent complete in the Peace as of that date.

The five-year average is 5.7 per cent. The 10-year average 10.9 per cent.

Progress the week before was at 11 per cent.

The breakdown by crop is 78.1 per cent for dry peas, 37.6 for spring wheat, 34.6 for barley, 25.4 per cent for oats and 2.3 per cent for canola.

Across Alberta, harvest completion was at 31.5 per cent of September 3, also well ahead of the five-and-ten year averages.

The report also says there were no weather delays in the Peace during the time the report was compiled.
