Applications open for new medical school program at NWP
Applications are now open for the new Northern Alberta Medical Program.
The program will allow future doctors living in northern Alberta to study in Grande Prairie at Northwestern Polytechnic and the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.
The University of Alberta’s Darryl Rolfson says the long-term goal is have doctors that are locally trained and want to stay and be part of the north.
Students will train virtually at NWP for the first two years of the program before switching to hands-on learning at clinics in Northern Alberta.
