Storm
The Grande Prairie Storm host the Olds Grizzlys for a pair of games this weekend.
Face-off times will be 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday at the Bonnetts Energy Centre.
There will be a salute to superfan and long-time volunteer Doug Edey prior to Friday’s game.
The Storm opened the season with a home win and shootout loss on the road against Whitecourt last weekend.
NWJHL
This is the opening weekend of the Northwest Junior Hockey League season.
Friday’s games include Fairview at the Wheat Kings, Dawson Creek in Beaverlodge and Fort St. John in Peace River.
Saturday, the Wheat Kings are in Beaverlodge, Fort St. John is in Fairview, Dawson Creek travels to Peace River and Sexsmith is in La Crete.
Those games all start at 8 p.m.
Sunday, Sexsmith is in La Crete again for a 2 p.m. face-off.
Wolves
Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves soccer is home to Concordia University of Edmonton this weekend.
Games are scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sunday at noon and 2, starting with the women’s game both days.
Cross-country running competes in Lethbridge Saturday.
Bantam Football
There are three bantam football games on Saturday.
Wembley at Sexsmith starts at 10 a.m.
The Grande Prairie Broncos play High Prairie at 1 p.m. also in Sexsmith.
The Grande Prairie Norsemen visit Peace River. Kick-off for that game is also set for 1 p.m.
