Grande Prairie Public Library broken into overnight

Sep 21, 2024 | 12:05 PM

The Grande Prairie Public Library says they experienced a break-in last night, (Friday, September 20) which is now disrupting some programs.

In a post on social media, GPPL said at “some point last night or early this morning, the library was broken into via smashed window and several of our teen gaming computers were stolen.”

As a result of this break-in, the Library was unable to open at its regular time today, and the children’s Baby and Toddler Time, Paper Play, and Get Crafty programs have all been cancelled.

The Teen Area will also be closed for further notice, however, the Library is now open.

At this time, the EverythingGP Newsroom has yet to receive any information from the RCMP.

In the same post, the Library thanked residents for their understanding.
