More than half the harvest done in the Peace says September 17 crop report

The September 17 crop report from Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation says more than half of the crop in the Peace Country had been harvested as of that date.

The 50.4 per cent completion rate on the 17th compared to 36.7 per cent on September 10.

The five-year average for September 17 is 32.7 per cent complete, while the 10-year average is 29.9 per cent.

Nearly 95 per cent of the dry peas have been combined, as have 67.7 per cent of the spring wheat, 65.6 per cent of the barley, 56 per cent of the oats and 25.9 per cent of the canola.
