Wind warning in effect for Grande Prairie and Wembley

Strong wind gusts of up to 90 km/h are expected today, according to Environment Canada.

There is a wind warning in effect for Grande Prairie and Wembley.

The weather office says wind will pick up in the morning and will weaken by this evening.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur during this windy period. Loose objects may also be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds. Please be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to these high winds.
