Storm, NWJHL, Wolves, squash tournament registration deadline this weekend

Storm

The Grande Prairie Storm have a pair of home games this Thanksgiving weekend.

The Storm will host he Calgary Canucks Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Storm have 13 points and are first in the North Division, two points ahead of Whitecourt.

The Wolverines host Drayton Valley Friday night.

NWJHL

There are three games in the Northwest Junior Hockey League Friday night.

That includes Sexsmith at the Wheat Kings, Dawson Creek in Beaverlodge and Peace River in Fairview.

Saturday, La Crete will be in Beaverlodge, Wheat Kings in Fort St. John and Peace River in Sexsmith.

All the above games start at 8 p.m.

Sunday, La Crete in Fort St. John starts at 12:30.

Wolves

The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves cross country running team competes in Camrose on Saturday.

This will be the last meet before the ACAC championships October 26 in Calgary.

Soccer is off this weekend and will wrap up the regular season on the road against NAIT October 19 and 20.

The games will be played at the St. Albert Soccer Association fields at 2 and 4 p.m. on the 19th and noon and 2 p.m. on the 20th, starting with the women’s game both days.

Volleyball and basketball regular seasons both start November 1.

Squash

The Grande Prairie Squash Club is hosting a tournament October 18 and 19 at the Eastlink Centre.

The entry fee is $50 for members of Squash Alberta and $75 for non-members.

Players are guaranteed three matches.

The deadline to register is 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 13.

All skill levels are welcome.
