Fairview emergency department without an onsite physician Tuesday to Thursday

The Fairview Health Complex emergency department will be without an onsite physician for 48 hours this week.

Starting Tuesday, October 15, at 7 a.m., until Thursday, October 17, it will be experiencing a temporary disruption.

Nursing staff will remain at the hospital during the disruption to provide urgent triage and assessments, while EMS will be rerouting all emergency calls to neighbouring hospitals.

AHS says the disruption could be cancelled if coverage is found.
