City of Grande Prairie outlines response to recent snowfall

Oct 21, 2024 | 11:32 AM

The City of Grande Prairie says snow crews have been working through the night to respond to the recent snowfall.

Sanders, plows, loaders, and graders are out on the roads and “are fully equipped and out there ensuring arterial roads are safe;” according to Wade Nellis, the City’s Director of Transportation.

The City and Nellis do still ask residents to take extra time, and drive according to the conditions when commuting as “we’re seeing typical early season challenges with freezing temperatures following the snowfall.”

Drivers are also asked to leave at least three car lengths of space for any snow removal equipment on the roadways.
