CN Rail construction affecting overnight traffic

The City of Grande Prairie is making residents aware of an overnight construction closure going into effect at 6 p.m.

This evening, (Wednesday October 23), CN Rail crews are set to replace a defective section of tracks on 68 Avenue, between Resources Road and 92 Street.

To complete this work, crews will need to shut down the road overnight. It is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday, October 24.

During the closure, Transit Route 9 will be affected. Detours will be set up to help guide residents.

The city says in a release, that it “appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as CN completes this critical infrastructure work.”
