Peace Bowl Thursday night, NWJHL from Wednesday night

The Mighty Peace Football League champion will be decided Thursday night.

The St. Joe’s Celtics will take on the Comp. Phoenix in the Peace Bowl.

The Celtics are ranked second among 4A schools by Football Alberta and ninth in the county on the small school rankings compiled by Canada Football Chat.

The Phoenix are unranked

Kick-off will be at 6:30 p.m. at CKC Field.

NWJHL

The Sexsmith Vipers edged the visiting County Wheat Kings 3-2 Wednesday night.

The Vipers got second-period goals from Trevan Gabert, Harley Klapp and KC McKinney to take a 3-0 lead.

Jaydon Gardney had two goals for the Wheat Kings.

The Vipers are 4-5-2 on the season. The Wheat Kings are 5-4-0. Both have 10 points are are tied for third in their division.
