Poppies now available across Canada

The Poppy Campaign gets underway across Canada today. (Friday, October 25)
This is done every year, from the last Friday of October until November 11, as Canadians honour Veterans and “never forget” by making a visual pledge wearing a poppy.
During the three-week period, Canadians can pick up poppies online or by donation at several national businesses. The money raised will then directly support veterans and their families.
To mark the start of the poppy campaign, the Grande Prairie Legion Branch #54 will take part in a wreath-placing ceremony at the County of Grande Prairie Office at noon; Followed by a ceremony at City of Grande Prairie Council Chambers at 1 p.m.
