City of Grande Prairie informing residents on winter operations
The City of Grande Prairie is prepared to take on winter road clearing operations the next time the snow falls.
The city is sharing with residents information on how snow removal teams will operate this winter.
City officials say that as winter sets in, crew will manage the snow in three ways: Priority Road Clearing on high traffic roads, Residential Road Clearing and Rural Service Area Clearing.
The city further breaks down priority roads into three categories: major arterials, including 100 Street and Wapiti Road, transit bus routes; major collectors like Crystal Lake Drive; and city-owned roads in industrial and commercial areas.
