Bear spray assault in Grande Prairie

Mounties is Grande Prairie are asking for the public’s assistance in a weapons assault that took place in the evening of November 1, 2024.

Officers were flagged down by a man that had just been bear sprayed in his face at 8:45 p.m.

The 54-year-old male victim said he was driving in the area of 108 Avenue and 100 Street, when he observed a male yelling at youth in their stopped vehicle.

The man believed the youth were in trouble and yelled at the suspect to stop what he was doing.

The suspect then crossed the street towards the victim and sprayed him in the face with bear spray, as well as into the victim’s vehicle.

The suspect is described as:

  • Wearing a black hoodie, black hat, and black backpack
  • Described as having a narrow face
  • Was in possession of a black e-bike

The youth who were observed at the scene were described as:

  • Driving a Mazda pick-up truck with a bed cover
