Company sentenced to pay $350k for 2022 worker fatality in Peace River
West Coast Scaffolding Inc. has been penalized under the Occupation Health and Safety Act for a workplace incident back in the spring of 2022 at a pulp mill near Peace River.
The incident took place on June 11, 2022, where a worker was dismantling scaffolding and fell from a height, suffering fatal injuries.
The company, West Coast Scaffolding Inc., plead guilty to one count under the OHS Act for failing to ensure the health and safety of a worker.
The company was sentenced on November 4, in St. Albert. The Crown withdrew eight other charges under OHS legislation.
