Piranhas medal at event held in Denver

Nov 7, 2024 | 12:00 PM

Three members of the Grande Prairie Piranhas were part of the Alberta team at a recent event in Denver, and two came home with medals.

Marley Monsen won gold in both the 100 and 200 metre breaststroke.

Mikayla Laurin won gold in the 200 metre backstroke and silver in the 100 metre backstroke.

Hudson Frayn finished fifth and eighth in his races.

They were all part of Swim Alberta’s Aspire Team 2024.

Swim Alberta says this is meant to provide training, preparation and analysis for young athletes to give them a look at what expectations would be when competing internationally.
